Discover different types of salads.
Starts with Taktouka which is made with cooked tomatoes and roasted green peppers, seasoned with garlic, paprika, and cumin, sometimes with a hint of chili pepper. Zaalouk made with eggplant, tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, and spices like cumin and paprika, this salad is often served cold or at room temperature. Carrot Salad made with carrots seasoned with lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, and sometimes garnished with parsley or cilantro. Cucumber and Tomato Salad which combines cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and parsley, dressed with olive oil, lemon juice, and sometimes vinegar. Beet Salad is with cooked beets are often diced or grated and mixed with garlic, cumin, paprika, olive oil, and vinegar or lemon juice. Chickpea Salad made with cooked chickpeas with tomatoes, onions, parsley, and a dressing made of olive oil, lemon juice, and spices like cumin and paprika. Moroccan Pastry & Tea Tour
Moroccan pastries are a delight! They’re often sweet, intricate, and rich in flavors. Start with M’hanncha (Snake Cake) which is made with layers of pastry rolled around a filling of almond paste, cinnamon, and sugar, resembling a coiled snake. Briouats are crispy pastries usually filled with almonds, honey, and sometimes a hint of orange blossom water. Chebakia are pastries made from strips of dough, deep-fried and coated in honey, sesame seeds, and spices. Makroud are diamond-shaped pastries stuffed with dates or figs, then fried and coated with honey. Baghrir alson known as “thousand-hole pancakes,” these spongy pancakes are perfect for soaking up honey or syrup.

Mint tea, or “atay b’nana” in Moroccan Arabic, is a staple beverage in Moroccan culture. It’s a blend of green tea, fresh mint leaves, and sugar. The tea is poured from a height to create a frothy layer on top. The process of making and serving mint tea holds significant cultural importance, often seen as a gesture of hospitality and friendship.
